As you are aware the clubhouse and golf course have been severely affected due to Storm Dennis. We will be updating members as quickly as possible with latest news on the situation. The golf course is closed until further notice.
The clubhouse has been severely damaged by water up to 4 feet high on all the ground floor. The locker rooms ,shop, storage rooms ,toilets and cellar have all been affected.
The electric feed from the car park will have to be replaced due to damage.
The upstairs has not suffered any damage but remains closed until further notice.
Thank you to all staff , members who have helped to begin the clean up and we would ask any member who wishes to retrieve their equipment from the locker rooms could you please call between 9am to 5pm. Thank you for you understanding.
The golf course and clubhouse are currently flooded and it is impossible to get access to them both. With safety paramount the club is closed to all staff, members and visitors until after the first opportunity the management team can get a fully qualified electrician to fully check all electrics and give us the full clearance to open up the club.
The club and locker rooms and reception will be closed until we get a full survey of flood damage and begin cleaning the buildings for environmental reasons.
We ask all members to be patient and understand that these are the processes we must follow as a management team.
Further updates will follow as soon as any news is received.
The MVGC presentation evening for winners of competitions in 2019 will be held at the golf club on Friday 28th February starting at 7pm. Could all competition winners make every effort to attend on the evening.
After 48 hrs of disruption with several computer servers not communicating to each other (beyond our control) our new MVGC website has now been activated. We offer our sincere apologies for any inconvenience over the weekend but the circumstances were beyond our control. Words of our deepest thanks to Dave Hopkins our website manager who has works tirelessly with designing and updating the MVGC website to keep us at the forefront of technology. A phone call of over 75 mins to Texas had to be made with one computer head office trying to resolve the problem as an example , and also the many hours working on our behalf behind the scene.
Its bright new colour scheme is a good fresh approach and very up to date.
Currently the diary under fixture heading is work in progress and will be updated completely by end of February.
All team fixtures are 95% complete with the exception of one date in the 2nd Team fixtures and two dates in the Ladies friendlies to be added.
As a thank you to members for renewing their membership for 2020 or for joining as a new member of MVGC we have decided to offer a free 4 ball voucher ( one only per member) to you. Please invite up to 3 guests to play with you and enjoy the wonderful golf course at MVGC. The voucher is only to be used April, May or June and must be organised and redeemed via the club shop.
Not many golf clubs make this offer to their members so we like to be a forward thinking golf club and give a valued benefit for being a member of MVGC.
New tee signage for both men and ladies is well under way and it is hopeful will be on display before April. The quality of the tee sign is of a very high standard and will impress both members and visitors when they play at MVGC.
Updates of the holes on the website has been done to help visitors to preview the course pre their visit to MVGC.
It is with great pleasure that we announce the first reciprocal agreement in MVGC history with Coed Y Mwstwr GC Bridgend. Please visit their website to see the lovely golf course they have to offer and please take advantage of the chance of playing CYMGC.
Details of the conditions of the reciprocal agreement is available for members to see in the policies and rules section on the MVGC website.
It is hoped that MVGC can expand on this agreement with one or two other golf clubs.
